Conference registration will take place at the Sheraton Boston Hotel & Towers beginning the afternoon of Monday,
June 17. Registration will also be available all day from June 18-20.
Organization for Human Brain Mapping
This conference is aimed at gathering scientists using modern functional brain
mapping techniques such as PET, SPECT, fMRI, EEG, MEG, optical imaging and
neuroanatomical tools for assessment of the operation of the human brain. The
meeting will focus on neuroscience and on applications of these techniques to study
brain implementation of sensory and motor systems, vision, attention, memory and
language in normal and pathological states. Methodological issues will also be
addressed as they relate to the above biological themes.
Reserve your place by completing the registration form. Detach from brochure (or see ASCII version below) and mail to:
Organization for Human Brain Mapping
or FAX to: (617) 432-0057
Payment must be made by check in US currency ($) to the order of Organization for Human Brain Mapping or use
Visa/Mastercard. All registrations will be confirmed by mail following the receipt of registration fees. Space is
limited and early registration is advised. Register before February 1st 1996 at significantly reduced
registration fees! Registration and payment are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. If the registration capacity
is reached, registration at the time of the meeting may NOT be possible.
A reduced registration fee is available for students. Eligible students enrolled in a full-time degree program must
include verification of student status and complete the appropriate section of the registration form.
Click here to view a printable ASCII version of the Registration Form.
Abstracts should include only original material. Abstracts must be prepared according to the guidelines provided here.
A completed abstract submission form must accompany all abstracts. Abstracts MUST be received by JANUARY
31, 1996. Please submit the abstact form, the original abstract, and three copies of the abstract. Click here to see a sample abstract. Abstracts are to be sent
to:
Dr. Peter Fox, Preceedings Secretary
Click here to view a printable ASCII version of the Abstract Submission Form.
All abstracts will be submitted to peer review. Letters of acceptance will be sent to authors by April 1, 1996. Accepted
abstracts will be published as a special issue of the journal NeuroImage (Academic
Press).
This is a two day workshop on the basics of functional MRI and advanced
technical issues relating fMRI to neuroimaging research. The two days differ
in target audience: The first day ("Tutorial Lectures") is intended for
newcomers to functional MRI. It will be a series of lectures on the basics
of the technology, data analysis, and the design and execution of fMRI-based
neuroscience experiments. The second day ("Current Technical Issues in fMRI")
is intended for an audience familiar with the basics of fMRI. There will be 5
or 6 different panels, each addressing an issue of current research activity
and/or controversy.
For more information, click here.
A full-day workshop "MEG and EEG for Human Brain Mapping", organized by
Drs. John George (Los Alamos National Laboratory) and Gregory Simpson
(Albert Einstein College of Medicine) will be held on Monday, June 17th.
The workshop will cover fundamentals to advanced topics. For more
information, or to receive registraton materials contact:

10. TWO DAY WORKSHOP ON FUNCTIONAL MRI
Sunday, June 16 & Monday, June 17.
Sponsored by the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Organization for Human
Brain Mapping.
Organized by Robert L. Savoy, Ph.D., Director of fMRI Education, MGH
Participants may register for either or both days.
(There is a substantial decrease in cost for early registration, and for
students.) The workshop will be held immediately prior to the Second
International Conference on Functional Mapping of the Human Brain, in Boston,
Massachusetts. It will be held in the same location (The Sheraton Hotel) as
the main conference. The final panel on the second day, "Recognizing Your Own
Bad Data", will be free (no registration fee required to attend just this
panel).
10. ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON MEG and EEG
Monday, June 17.
Sponsored by the Organization for Human Brain Mapping.
Organized by John George, Los Alamos National Laboratory and Greg
Simpson, Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Center for Morphometric Analysis, MGH
Boston, MA.
